My name is Rob Hill. I have been in the wine business for over 30 years. Besides my work as a wine educator I have been a restaurant manager, retail consultant and wholesale representative. I have also worked at a winery and helped with wine production and I have traveled extensively throughout many of the world's vineyards.

My philosophy is one that emphasizes wine as food. I am not into wine snobbery and don't like to get bogged down in the minutia. I am not into the cult of the wine maker either; rather, I like to think of wine as a natural thing. Indeed, wine making is only part of what makes a wine taste the way it does. I also believe that most foods have a perfect wine match and I have made a study of the ways wine and food go together.
